According to Dempster-Shafer theory for uncertainty management, where $Bel(A)$ denotes belief of event $A$.

Solution

In probability theory,

$P(A)+P(\neg A)=1$

But in Dempster-Shafer theory, belief values need not add up to $1$ because some uncertainty may remain unassigned.

So,

$Bel(A)+Bel(\neg A)\le 1$
