Which of the following statements are DML statements?

$(a)$ Update $[tablename]$ Set $[columnname]=VALUE$

$(b)$ Delete $[tablename]$

$(c)$ Select $*$ from $[tablename]$

Solution

A candidate key must uniquely identify each tuple in a relation.

So, uniqueness is a property of candidate key.

Also, a candidate key must be minimal. It means no proper subset of it can uniquely identify tuples.

This property is called irreducibility.

Therefore, both $P$ and $Q$ are true.
