Application Fee

Age Limit as on 1 April 2026

• Date-of-birth range: Candidates must have been born between 2 April 1998 and 1 April 2006, inclusive.

Upper-age relaxation is available to eligible categories under SBI rules. Note: The regular recruitment and SBI's separate Junior Associate special recruitment drive for SC/ST/OBC backlog vacancies have different advertisement numbers and application schedules. Candidates should avoid submitting an application through the wrong recruitment link.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. The qualification must be completed by 31 December 2026.

Students in the final year or semester of graduation may apply provisionally. If selected, they must produce proof that they passed the graduation examination on or before 31 December 2026. Candidates holding an integrated dual degree should also ensure that their passing date meets this deadline.

Local Language Requirement

An applicant may apply for vacancies in only one State or Union Territory and must be proficient in the specified local language for that location. The required proficiency covers reading, writing, speaking and understanding.

The local language test is conducted after the main examination and before joining. Candidates who provide a Class 10 or Class 12 mark sheet or certificate showing that they studied the selected local language are generally exempt from this test.

SBI Clerk Selection Process

The selection procedure consists of the following stages:

1. Online preliminary examination
2. Online main examination
3. Specified local language proficiency test, where applicable
4. Verification of eligibility, application details and documents

The preliminary examination is qualifying in nature, and its marks are not included in the final merit list. SBI prepares the merit list using the aggregate marks obtained in the main examination, subject to the applicable local-language and eligibility conditions.

One-fourth of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each incorrect answer in the objective tests.

SBI Junior Associate Salary

The notified pay scale begins at ₹24,050. Graduates receive two advance increments, resulting in a starting basic pay of ₹26,730. SBI states that total starting monthly emoluments at a metro location such as Mumbai are approximately ₹46,000, including dearness allowance and other current allowances. Actual pay can vary by posting location and applicable benefits.
